Questions
GENERAL FAQs ABOUT MICROBLADING
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique used to create the appearance of fuller, natural-looking eyebrows by manually depositing pigment into the skin with a handheld tool.
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
Typically, microblading lasts between 12–24 months. The longevity depends on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
IS MICROBLADING PAINFUL?
Most clients report minimal discomfort. The nanoblading tool is finer and a more gentle technique. We do not work deep in the skin. You will feel a scratching sensation.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
The initial appointment usually takes around 2–3 hours. This includes brow mapping, and the microblading.
WILL YOU WORK OVER EXISTING MICROBLADING?
This will be assessed per client. Please contact me via Instagram and send a photo. In some cases it maybe recommended to allow the pigment to fade for longer or advise removal treatment first.
WHATS THE HEALING PROCESS LIKE?
Healing usually takes 10–14 days. Expect some scabbing, flaking, and slight color changes. The final results settle after about 4–6 weeks.
DO I NEED A TOUCH UP?
Yes. A touch-up session is recommended 5–8 weeks after your first procedure to perfect the shape, color, and detail.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, and retinol-based products 24–48 hours before your appointment. Also, do not wax, tint, or thread your brows in the days leading up to the session.
CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Avoid applying makeup on or around the brow area for at least 7 days while the skin heals to prevent infection or pigment disruption.
WILL MY BROWS LOOK TOO DARK AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
Yes, initially they may appear darker and more defined. This is normal — the color will fade and soften by up to 50% as they heal.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROBLADING AND OTHER BROW TREATMENTS?
Unlike brow tinting or henna, microblading deposits pigment into the skin and lasts much longer. It also creates hair-like strokes for a natural effect, unlike powder brows which give a more shaded look.
CAN I EXERCISE AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?
Avoid heavy sweating, gyms, and saunas for at least 7–10 days post-procedure to ensure proper healing.
ARE THERE ANY CASES WHERE THE PIGMENT DOES NOT RETAIN IN THE SKIN?
Yes, its very rare but this can happen. Some people can have an extremely effective immune system and can reject the pigment or others can have very effective skin healing. These is no way to know this until the treatment is carried out. If this does happen we can asses if further treatment is suitable.
WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE TREATMENT
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Individuals prone to keloids or with super thin skin.
Individuals with visible redness on the face. Broken blood vessels too close to the skin surface will cause excessive bleeding, affecting the retention of the brows.
Individuals with transmittable blood diseases such as HIV or Hepatitis. Microblading artists cut into the skin so it is best to not work with these conditions for the safety of our clients as these conditions greatly impact the immune system and healing process of individuals.
Individuals with auto-immune diseases. Microblading may greatly impact the immune system and healing results are not guaranteed.
If you’ve had Botox/filler in the brow area. We ask that clients wait 4 weeks after botox/filler before getting Microblading done. Alternatively, you can do the Microblading treatment first and then wait 4 weeks to do your botox/filler.
If you have any kind of skin condition near your eyebrows. Eczema, severe acne, rashes, or anything else near eyebrows. You will need to wait until healed and in some cases present a signed doctors medical note.
Individuals with excessive oily skin & large pores are not good candidates for Microblading.
Individuals undergoing active chemotherapy.
Individuals under 18 years of age.
Individuals who are pregnant or nursing.
Individuals with dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo.
Individuals with blood clotting disorders or severe heart issues.
